August 1998 to Present: Adjunct Instructor, Northern Michigan University, Marquette MI.
  • Structured a freshman-level composition course in order to develop critical thinking and writing abilities and to familiarize students with academic discourse across the curriculum.
  • Developed a Technical and Professional writing course focusing on collaborative organizational strategies, research techniques, and oral presentation approaches.
  • Taught upper-division composition focusing on research methods and writing strategies.

  • Created a freshman-level composition course surveying different rhetorical modes of composition, including research and argumentation.
  • Produced an active learning environment while maintaining classroom stability.

  • Awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and recognized with the Strategic Air Command Inspector General’s "Superior Performer Award."
  • Administratively supported a squadron of over 200 people in areas ranging from typing and filing to computer security and publishing orders.
  • Automated a slow, paper-intensive vacation time (leave) accounting system by programming database software.
